Gabriel
Blain received his BFA in Art & Design at Alfred
University. Though artistic in nature his work is derived
from a basic design oriented platform utilizing CAD
software to generate specks as well as formulate structural
determinations. For his thesis exhibition he designed and
built a series called LD.
"The
'LD' collection is comprised of structural lighting
concepts intended for architectural installation and is
intimately concerned with spatial distinction. In
utilizing subtle differentiations of line and depth finite
becomes infinite ultimately enhancing how we coexist with
form and light. 'LD' modules built to date are
essentially prototypes, visual components to a broader
theoretical constitution."
